Measurement of
steel reinforcement in a normal construction project
is the most time consuming step during the quantity
surveying process. Usually it takes an average of
4 to 5 months for an experienced quantity surveyor
to complete a single project.
VHStation is an Artificial Intelligence Steel Reinforcement
Taking-off System that requires no manual input of
drawing data. Using construction Framing Plans and
Reinforcement Detail Plans in DXF/DWG formats as input,
VHStation utilizes patented artificial intelligent
technologies to recognize reinforcement information
stored inside these drawing plans, and then calculates
accurate Bending Schedules and Sub-summaries to export
reports in Microsoft Excel format. The time used for
the whole taking-off process can be significantly
shorten to less than 30 minutes per drawing, a whole
30 times faster than the manual approach.
VHStation consists of two steel reinforcement data
analysis modules. The VHFraming module analyzes the
Framing plan, recognizes structure elements such as
Column, Beam, Staircase, Wall, Slab, etc. on each
floor, and understands the whole construction framework
through their layouts and dimensions.
The VHDetails
module analyzes the Reinforcement Detail Plan, determines
the shapes, characteristics and lengths of the steel
bar by recognizing steel bars through indication of
lines, legends, bar marks and dimension lines on the
drawing plans.
Finally,
VHStation combines and processes the results generated
by VHFraming and VHDetails modules and calculates
the quantities of steel reinforcement by using predetermined
algorithms. It has a series of data verification mechanisms
to checks and validates the results. All the results
are traceable to the authenticated source. Bending
schedule reports can then be generated. Various querying
methods to the steel information are also available.
